CWC Newsletter | Vol. 1

Hi Everyone!

Welcome to the CWC Newsletter.

February is a big month for Coaching With Christine. This month I launch my updated website–today in fact. The new website was a labor of love, so it is only fitting that it launches in February.

The impetus behind the switch was the desire to have a website that will grow with my coaching practice. I’m desiring to create more long-form content and this new website will provide an avenue through which I can do just that.

Speaking of content, make sure to check out my Instagram page and follow along this month. Today we kick off a 5-part series on the rest. Rest is the foundation of my nutrition coaching practice, which may come as a surprise to you. However 👇…

It’s an often overlooked need and society doesn’t help by creating shame and judgment around slowing down and doing “nothing.” There is great value in rest, not just physically, but mentally and spiritually as well.

Throughout the series I’ll share resources, including exercises to begin to explore our relationship with rest. Follow along to learn more.

Favorite Things

Below are some of my current favorite wellness tools and resources. I don’t have any affiliate or sponsorship relationship with any of these. I’m just a big fan. Sharing them with you in support of your healing.

Holistic Life Navigation Podcast | Free
This is my somatic teacher’s podcast. I searched far and wide before settling on a somatic teacher and Luis and his team have far exceeded my expectations. His latest episode on “Why We Like Getting Sick,” is so good.

Finch App | Free
If you’re having trouble following through on your goals and are looking for accountability, Finch is the app for you. It uses gamification to make goal setting and execution fun.

If you grew up with Tamagotchi, Finch is like Tamagotchi without the psychological trauma. Unlike a Tamagotchi, your Finch won’t die if you get distracted and forget to check in for a few hours. In fact, the Finch will check in on you and send encouraging text messages throughout the day.

I highly recommend the soundscapes feature. It provides a very soothing background for meals, aiding our bodies shift into a parasympathetic state, where digestion is optimized and healing occurs.

Note: There is a paid version of the app, but the free version works just as well.

Essentrics | 2-week free trial, then $14.95/month
This is my jam. (I think we all know what decade I was born in now 😆.)

Eccentrics is a movement platform that focuses on restorative movement. Specifically, movements are done in a relaxed state. This is a significant shift from traditional forms of movement that are more centered on high activation and are used in a punitive manner to “get the body into shape.”

What I like most about Essentrics is that I can search their library and find workouts that meet me where I am that day. Some days I focus on posture, others it is shoulder mobility or hips. Additionally, I can filter by length of workout, so I can always find something that works with my schedule.

There is a free 14-day trial and if you choose to subscribe, it’s only $14.95/month.

Enjoy!
